Participant privacy notice.

What we collect, why, and what we don't do.

Last updated October 2026 · Draft for review

YourPOV Works ("we", "us") runs a panel of people who take part in market research studies. This notice explains what we collect when you join, how we use it, who sees it, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not skimmed; if anything is unclear, email hello@yourpov.works and a person will answer.

What we collect

When you join, we ask for your name, email, mobile number, ZIP code and state, year of birth, and some optional details about your household, work, education, income band and background. We ask what you buy and care about, how you'd describe yourself, the kinds of studies you're open to, and a few sentences in your own words. We also record when you signed up, the consent you gave and the wording you saw, your IP address and browser type (to prevent fraud), and the source that brought you here (for example, which ad).

Over time we add notes about your participation: which studies you were invited to, whether you took part, and the thank-you payments you received.

Why we collect it

For one purpose: to match you with research studies and run them well. We use your profile to decide whom to invite, your contact details to reach you and schedule sessions, your payment history to pay you and meet tax reporting rules, and the fraud-prevention details to keep the panel honest for everyone in it.

Who sees it

We never sell or rent your information, and we don't share it for anyone else's advertising.

Text messages

We text you only if you ticked the separate "text me about studies" box. Messages are occasional and about research opportunities only. Reply STOP at any time to end them; message and data rates may apply.

Recordings

Research sessions are often recorded so the team can review what was said. We'll tell you before any recording starts and ask for your agreement on the recording itself. Recordings are used for research analysis only and are not published.

Payments and taxes

Thank-you payments are made by e-gift card or digital payment. They may count as taxable income. If your payments in a calendar year reach the IRS reporting threshold, we'll ask you for a tax form and issue the required paperwork; that threshold is high enough that very few members reach it.

How long we keep it

As long as you're a member, and for a reasonable period afterwards for tax and record-keeping. If you haven't responded to us in about two years, we'll remove you from the active panel. Ask us to delete your record at any time and we'll do it within a few days, keeping only what tax law requires.

Security

Your data is stored with reputable providers, encrypted in transit and at rest, with access limited to the team that runs the panel. Tax forms, when needed, are stored separately from your profile.

Your choices

Who can join

The panel is for residents of the United States aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has joined, tell us and we'll remove the record.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that matters, we'll email members before the change takes effect. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
